Novel antimicrobials against antibiotic-multiresistant pathogens
The spread of antibiotic resistance among bacterial pathogens has become a major concern for health professionals. Indeed, some antimicrobial agents that used to be very efficient have become obsolete to treat some kinds of nosocomial (hospital-acquired) infections.
Doctors have now to face therapeutic dead-ends. This matter of fact is worsened by the lack of innovation in antimicrobial drug discovery, and very few novel antibiotics are to be introduced into clinics in the next years. Indeed, antibiotic resistance is an unmet medical need.
To address this unmet medical need, Nosopharm researches and develops novel antibacterial molecules with efficiency against the most worrisome multiresistant pathogens. The prioritary targets of Nosopharm are the bacteria responsible of lethal opportunistic infections, like Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
